have you been wanting to be less wasteful? do you want to stop using single use goods?

this post contains affiliate links that help support this blog.

I wanted to share some reusable goods that will last a long time. single use plastic is soooo last year! if you are on the mission to reduce your waste and become a more eco conscious person then, this blog post is for you!

I also only wanted to include items that I personally use and tips that I practice daily. So below are four ways I practice waste consciousness. I hope this helps you make better choices for our planet.

Ever since having children I’ve learned that humans produce soooo. much. waste. between the diapers, wipes and having to constantly wash burped-on clothes. its crazy to think that just a little human can make that much waste inclined me to think about the choices I can make everyday to reduce mine and my family’s waste.

There are tons of sustainably made diapers, wipes, clothes and tons of baby gear on the market to chose from. I will link my favorite brands that I used quite frequently while the babes were infants.

my favorite diaper brands: softest diapers on the market and biodegradable too!

I also wanted to share products that we choose to use on a day-to-day basis. Things that are practical and work for a mom with two toddlers.

I would love to hear your favorite items in your daily routine that you can reuse. please share by leaving a comment!!!

1.) dryer balls

these dryer balls completely eliminate my need to use dryer sheets. you just have to throw em in the dryer and if you want to add scent you just drop a few of your favorite essential oil blends. it really is that easy. this method also saves you ALOT OF MONEY because you can reuse them. you’re literally saving money  at only $6.49 with this pack. Since you won’t be tossing them in the trash after each load (like you do dryer sheets) you’ll be keeping your cash in your pocket where it belongs.

YETI Rambler 20 oz Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Tumbler w/MagSlider Lid

reusable cups is first up on this topic. we often forget how much single use containers we use on a daily basis (The average American throws away approximately 185 pounds of plastic per year.)

that is insane! next time you go into your favorite coffee shop bring your cup in! most cafes offer a discount.

I’ve linked my favorite coffee cup  HERE which keeps warm drinks warmer for longer and cold drinks ice cold. This cup is also VERY easy to wash without the need for a bottle brush.

we all need to do our part to save this planet. every little conscious thing you do makes a HUGE impact!

Stasher 100% Silicone Reusable Food Bag, Sandwich Storage Size, 7-inch (15-ounce), Citrus $11.99

Stasher 100% Silicone Reusable Food Bag, Sandwich Storage Size, 7-inch (15-ounce)

we all know the very popular ZIPLOC bag. the one we throw away after just one use. again, single use.

I grew up putting all my snacks in a ziplock bag. a different snack for each bag. it was just the way I was taught to do it.

now that I know better. I’ve stopped buying ziplock bags for our house. what do I use instead? Tupperware, REUSABLE FOOD BAGS

Recently I was gifted these amazing snack bags I love these bags because they are see through and come in a bunch of colors, sizes + styles.

In just the U.S. alone, one estimate suggests 500 million straws are used every single day.

WOW! read that again. I mean have you seen the videos going around? the one a turtle has a straw STUCK in his nostrils? how have is that okay?

most of the cafes on the island offer biodegradable straws that basically disenigrate after you’ve finished your drink. don’t you dare stick that straw in hot coffee because it is not its purpose. these very handy straws last forever and will withstand your hot coffee, your iced latte, your smoothie and iced water!

P.s. please be VERY careful if you have toddlers and let them use these straws because it can get dangerous is you don’t pay attention. no walking while drinking. and always assist your toddler when using metal straws!
